huevos rancheros or carne adovada? Huevos Rancheros are admittedly a general tex-mex staple but I’ve very rarely found carne adovada outside New Mexico/Texas/Arizona.

Taking Ginger Ale to Another Level — 1 year ago

I grew up on Vernor’s and it is pretty good. When I encountered Blenheim’s I was told that it would only be appreciated by those who had never had anything better than Vernor’s, so I tried it not expecting it to even come close. Well, it left Vernor’s in the ditch sucking wind. Those who think Canada Dry is ginger ale should save their money, but for a real sipping ginger ale, Blenheim’s is it.

Pork Tenderloin — 1 year ago

Very Hoosier (Indiana). Huge, flat, fried pieces of pork tenderloin that dwarf the buns they’re served on.

Also sugar cream pie, fried biscuits with apple butter, and a mess of perch.

What about Chimichangas or Nachos? Oh, chow mein and fortune cookies are also distinctly American foods. And you can’t forget New Orlean’s Red Beans and Rice!
