Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments

Add to my lists | Print this list

The 100 Scariest Movie Moments counts down the most bone-chilling moments in cinematic history. Featuring interviews, film clips, and production stills, Bravo’s series of fright nights looks at scenes from a variety of movie classics. From cunning raptors stalking the children of Jurassic Park to bees pouring from the killer’s mouth in Candyman, to the attack of the murderous clown in Poltergeist, this mini-series explores what went into the making of these scenes and searches beyond the conventions of the genre to uncover the number one scary movie moment of all time.

Bravo also did a follow-up to this list, "30 Even Scarier Movie Moments":http://www.listsofbests.com/list/33752.

FRANKENSTEIN — 16 weeks ago

is this the original?

The Black Cat? — 43 weeks ago

Can anyone who’s seen the show confirm that that’s the right version of The Black Cat? (#68) Or is it supposed to be the 1934 version with Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi?

Village of the Damned — 46 weeks ago

I just changed from the double DVD set of Village of the Damned & Children of the Damned to just Village of the Damned (#92).

Untitled — 49 weeks ago

I changed Dracula (#79) to the 1931 version with Bela Lugosi (instead of “Bram Stoker’s Dracula” by Coppola). Even though the link on Bravo’s website directs you to buy the Coppola version, if you watch this clip of the show itself they’re obviously talking about the 1931 version.

Stop Changing Cat People. — 1 year ago

The Paul Schrader version is a remake. It was not on Bravo’s list and should not be listed here. The Jacques Tourneur (original) version is the only one worth viewing.

The Wicker Man — 1 year ago

The Nicholas Cage version can’t hold a candle to the original which takes place on a remote island in the British Isles. It has seared a place in my memory!

The wrong version of Cat People is listed here at number 97. The list refers to the original.

When a Stranger Calls — 1 year ago

Changed this from the 2006 version to the 1979 version, to match list source. Also corrected Cat People – it is supposed to be the newer version.

More? — 2 years ago

“The Shinning” and “Alien” were pretty horrible!
