why is Hot Fuzz on here? i can’t take this seriously….while there are alot of great movies here, that just discredits the entire list for me.

This list...
...often has recently released movies that people have seen and enjoyed. As the movie gets older, more people who saw it but weren’t fans of it score it on the imdb, the rating falls and it drops off the list. You’ll notice that there are a few good but not great recent releases on the list, although some of them do stay on the list for a while.
I would guess that Hot Fuzz is on here because Simon Pegg is a comedic genius. But your mileage may vary. Comedy is like that.

Are you kidding? That’s one of the funniest films I’ve seen in years. Definitely deserves to be up there. Or are you of the opinion that films shouldn’t be funny because it cheapens the art?
